The problem
Consumers pay too much. Producers earn too little.
Consumers
Electricity prices in Germany average around 37 ct/kWh in basic supply, well above the level of a few years ago. People who rent often have no access to affordable solar power at all.
Producers
Households that invest in solar receive only about 6 to 13 ct/kWh for the surplus they feed in. A large share of solar power is sold cheaply or never used. The electricity is generated on the roof next door, yet it never reaches the neighbour.
Both sides lose. Pyrpose Energy brings them together.
Why now
For the first time in 140 years, neighbours are allowed to share their electricity directly.

The regulation is arriving
§42c EnWG allows electricity to be shared directly within a neighbourhood for the first time, effective 1 June 2026. In Switzerland this is already established practice through ZEV and LEG.

How it works
Energy sharing under §42c EnWG.
Generate
Electricity is produced in the neighbourhood: on rooftops, through shared installations, by prosumers with a surplus.
Share
Instead of feeding the surplus into the grid for a few cents, it goes directly to consumers in the same region. Tenants without their own roof can take part too.
Settle
Pyrpose measures, balances and bills, compliant and automated. A smart metering system is enough; no additional hardware is required.
§42c EnWG takes effect on 1 June 2026 and, for the first time, gives citizens the right to share electricity within a community. Pyrpose Energy turns that regulation into a production-ready platform.
